Installation

  1. Download Meta Caddie from the App Store.
  2. Open the app and complete onboarding — the caddie will ask for your name, handicap, and club distances. This takes about two minutes and is how the caddie learns what clubs to recommend.
  3. Start a 7-day free trial. No charge until the trial ends.

Your first round

Starting a round

  1. Open the Round tab.
  2. Tap Start Round and search for your course.
  3. The caddie gives you a hole briefing as you walk to the first tee — wind, distance, and a suggested play.

Getting yardages

Yardages update automatically as you move. The satellite map shows front, middle, and back of the green at all times. Your Apple Watch displays the same numbers on your wrist.

Asking the caddie

Tap the Ask Caddie button or say "Hey Caddie" out loud. The caddie responds in under two seconds with a club recommendation and the reasoning behind it.

Voice commands

The caddie responds to natural language. Some examples:

  • "What club should I hit?"
  • "How far is the bunker on the right?"
  • "What's the wind doing?"
  • "I'm between clubs."
  • "Give me the conservative play."

Logging shots

On Apple Watch: swing and the watch detects it automatically, then prompts you to confirm the club.

On iPhone: tap Shot in the left sidebar after each shot.

Finishing a round

Tap End Round on the last hole. The caddie delivers a post-round debrief with highlights and what to watch next time.

Apple Watch setup

  1. Install the Meta Caddie app on your Apple Watch from the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Start a round on your iPhone — the watch connects automatically.
  3. Yardages appear on your wrist as you walk. Swing to auto-detect shots.

Ray-Ban Meta glasses setup

  1. Pair your glasses to your iPhone via Bluetooth in Settings.
  2. In Meta Caddie, go to Settings → Devices and connect your glasses.
  3. The caddie's voice routes through your glasses speakers during rounds.
  4. To use the camera for lie assessment, say "Caddie, look at my lie." The glasses LED illuminates when the camera is active.
